Omega Class Trips

Class trips are an integral part of the curriculum at Omega Middle School.

They are designed to inspire and teach lifelong lessons while holding space for students to forge long-lasting relationships with both friends and mentors.

The domains most commonly explored through class trips are the social and natural domains.

Now with our activity bus, Omegans have more opportunities than ever before to encounter dazzling new environments within the Blue Ridge Mountains and our urban habitat.

Our teachers are experienced and trained in bringing main lesson material to light within nature’s laws by way of outdoor education. They never miss an opportunity to integrate theory with practice, whether that real world experience is a hike through a waterfall, a visit to an art gallery, or a service learning trip.

Class trips vary year by year, depending on the academic material covered and the needs of the collective student body. Past class trips have included the visits listed below:

  • Charleston with an overnight stay in the USS Yorktown battleship
  • Washington D.C.
  • Local Theatrical and Musical Performances
  • Spanish Language-themed Field Trips
  • Dharma Center
  • Nature Awareness Hikes
  • Overnight Camping
  • Art Museums
  • Renaissance Fairs
